The costs most drivers find out about too late

Gig income looks simple until tax season. These are the three surprises that quietly eat your earnings.

~$3,100

CPP you didn't see deducted

As a self-employed driver you owe both halves of CPP — and a second layer (CPP2) once you earn enough. Platforms don't withhold it.

Day 1

GST/HST registration rule

Rideshare drivers must register for GST/HST from the first dollar — there's no $30k grace. Most don't know until they're audited.

Questions, answered straight

Does GigTrack file my taxes? +

No. GigTrack generates accountant-ready reports — categorized income, expenses, mileage, and tax estimates bundled into one package your accountant files from. You stay in control; a qualified pro does the filing.

Are the tax estimates official? +

They're CRA-aligned estimates built from published 2026 CRA rates (CPP/CPP2, federal and provincial brackets, GST/HST). They're for planning, not a guarantee — your actual taxes depend on your full financial picture. Your accountant confirms final figures.

What does it cost? +

$6.99/month or $73.99/year. No tier above that. Waitlist members get the first month free and early access when we launch.

Which platforms and provinces? +

Uber, Lyft, SkipTheDishes, DoorDash, Instacart, and other Canadian gig platforms. Tax logic covers Manitoba, Ontario, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec to start.

When does it launch? +

We're building GigTrack now and validating with real drivers first. Joining the waitlist gets you early access and a say in what we build. We'll only launch once it genuinely helps drivers keep more of what they earn.
